Fourth Grade Competencies
The following student competencies will be developed through classroom guidance lessons led by the counselor
Fourth grade students will:
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently, as well as the ability to work cooperatively with other students
- Share knowledge
- Become a self-directed and independent learner
- Demonstrate the ability to balance school, studies, extracurricular activities, leisure time and family life
- Learn how to set goals
- Understand the importance of equity and access in career choice
- Identify personal strengths and assets
- Respect alternative points of view
- Use a decision-making and problem-solving model
- Differentiate between situations requiring peer support and situations requiring adult professional help
- Learn how to cope with peer pressure
