Fourth Grade Competencies

The following student competencies will be developed through classroom guidance lessons led by the counselor

Fourth grade students will: 

  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently, as well as the ability to work cooperatively with other students
  • Share knowledge
  • Become a self-directed and independent learner
  • Demonstrate the ability to balance school, studies, extracurricular activities, leisure time and family life
  • Learn how to set goals
  • Understand the importance of equity and access in career choice
  • Identify personal strengths and assets
  • Respect alternative points of view
  • Use a decision-making and problem-solving model
  • Differentiate between situations requiring peer support and situations requiring adult professional help
  • Learn how to cope with peer pressure
